If badlands aren’t your thing, or you find yourself in the area in the heat of summer, take a 40 minute drive southeast of Medicine Hat to the Cypress Hills.
The town of Elkwater is a great base for a day or more of riding, with direct trail access from the main campgrounds and lakefront. The 670 and Alberta Parks have built many trails in the last few years and still more are coming. There is everything from green, machine built loops in the Firerock area to black downhill only trails like Last Grizzly.
We also hold an annual bike race called the Battle Creek Showdown here that is well attended and an excellent festival style event.Â
The 670 Collective is working on getting full trail videos of each of our trails up over the next year, but there are quite a few on YouTube already that are linked to Trailforks too.  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeJDrpnG55qI0q-FqGJX2LQ
Our major sponsors are both local bike shops, CyclePath and Gravity Sports, who are both found in Medicine Hat. And if you are looking for a great coffee or superb baking, check out The Station Coffee Company in Downtown Medicine Hat too.  http://www.stationcoffeeco.ca/
And if you want to check out the 670, our website is http://670collective.ca , our public Facebook group is https://www.facebook.com/670CollectiveMTB and our Instagram is https://www.instagram.com/670mtnbike/. Â
Thanks for the great write up, 670! I’m sure this will help put Southeast Alberta on the national radar!
